Reliance Communications Limited today announced the launch of its high-speed CDMA wireless broadband service, Reliance Netconnect
Broadband Plus, in Madhya Pradesh.
Tata Motors has entered into agreements with five insurance companies to offer comprehensive insurance, under the ‘Tata Motors Insurance’
banner, for the Nano. Companies including National Insurance Company, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, Royal Sundaram Alliance General
Insurance, United India Insurance and HDFC Ergo General Insurance have signed agreements with Tata Motors for the Nano.
Cement major ACC said it would invest around Rs 2,900 crore in the next one year to increase its capacity to over 30 million tonnes per annum
(mtpa) from the present 22.63 mtpa. ACC is increasing its Bargarh plant capacity to 2.3 mtpa and is also commissioning a 30-Mw power plant
there. It is also setting up two greenfield grinding plants in Karnataka which would go on steam by the end of the year.
The Ranipet unit of Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL) is planning to increase its export business to Rs 100 crore by 2011-12 from the current
Rs 30 crore. The Ranipet unit manufactures auxiliaries for boilers and exports products like flue gas, fans, air pre-heaters and other auxiliaries
used by the power sector.
Aditya Birla group telecom service provider Idea Cellular has launched GSM services in Orissa, making its foray into the eastern coast of the
country. This also expands the company’s presence into 16 circles in the country.
ABB, a power and automation technologies provider, announced the setting up of a greenfield manufacturing plant at Nelamangala near
Bangalore to manufacture automation products.
Wockhardt Ltd, India's sixth largest drug maker, is planning to hive off its biotechnology products division into a separate company and rope in a
global pharmaceutical major as a strategic investor. The process will take 12 to 18 months.
